ANOTHER POSTCARD

"To Dear Alice, with the "wish", that the New Year may hold for you "Perfect Health" and Perfect Peace, from Daddy Foulds, Mrs Law, Geoffrey Foulds, Mrs Smith"

By using information from the Science and Media Museum I was able to identify a time frame for the postcard, the presence of the line in the middle gives a date of the postcard being after 1902, and while the photograph could be from much earlier, the text makes that unlikely. Based on previous research, I understand the earliest use of the stamp box was in 1908, so a more specific time frame, would be 1902 - 1908.

The possible Mrs Law in the photograph could be any number of people in the Law family since a first name is not provided, though there are a few possibilities for who it may be, based on the year they were alive;

Dinah Law, 1860 - 1928
Beatrice Law, 1889 - 1963
Emily Law, 1851 - ?
Mollie/Molly Law, ? - 1960

I estimate the age of the Mrs Law pictured to be between 20 - 40 years old, a wide age frame, but could help in narrowing down the figure. Mollie/Molly Law, would only have been referred to as Mrs Law after marrying Edgar Law, and given that he emigrated to Australia in 1911, it is unlikely to be her in the photograph, and based on the earliest use of the stamp box, 1908, the only way it could be Molly/Mollie, is if they married before travelling to Australia, though given the lack of information I have on Molly, I don't want to make assumptions. I will make estimates for the age ranges given from the age frame of the postcard;

Dinah Law - 42-48
Beatrice Law - 13-19
Emily Law - 51-57

The low quality of the photograph makes it difficult in guessing the age of Mrs Law, though I doubt it to be Beatrice, her age seems to young to match the photo, so I can narrow down the Mrs Law to Dinah or Emily, Dinah being the mother of Edgar Law, and Emily being Edgar's aunt.
