KODAK POSTCARD

P O S S I B L Y    A    Y O U N G    E D G A R

In the collection of photos in the box of Edgar's belongings I found a postcard with eight figures, one in particular, sharing similar features to Edgar. Written on the back of the postcard, "taken in 1913", gives me a date, though could be inaccurate.
By using the small amount of information available on the reverse of the postcard, I was able to find out a great deal of information. I began with the name, Jas C. Cruden, a photographer I found through the Orange Regional Museum and Gallery, Australian, which gave me the context of the photograph, it was taken in Australia, if I could find confirmation of the year it was taken, then I could identify if it is infact Edgar in the photo.

Through a forum for Kodak printed postcards, I was able to match the stamp box to 'type A', a style only used between 1903 and 1914, confirming that the photograph was likely to have been taken in 1913 as stated.

Edgar Law emigrated to Australia in 1911, he was aged 24, and so if he was in the photo taken in 1913, he would be 26, the age matches the figure in the photo. The only issue now, is who are the other figures, and in what context was this photo taken.
