HEALTH: RESEARCH
R E S E A R C H A N D S O U V E N I R S
From my visit to the Thackray Medical Museum I purchased a few souvenirs as a part of the criteria for a collection of objects from our independent field trips. A majority of the objects I collected were free leaflets and advertisements available from the various exhibits in the museum, I also chose to buy some items from the gift shop, a 'Votes for Women' pin inspired by the Suffragettes movement, two A5 prints illustrated by Nicholas-Henri Jacob, and a jar of Pear Drops.
As I don't currently have a direction planned for this project, and the Museum was not all that inspiring, I have chosen to look towards further research as an inspiration for developing my sketchbook. As an enthusiast for medical illustration I own quite a few books containing various sources for me to begin researching from. I don't want to limit myself to one particular area of health just yet as it is early on in the assignment, I think if I combine my research of treatments from Thackray and general anatomy from my books I should develop a sketchbook full of ideas for the final picture book.
